Proactive in Health and Safety for 25 years

Having worked in safety critical environments for some of the most demanding and safety conscious organisations on projects during the past 25 years, Wrights has established an enviable record with regards to Health and Safety.  We have well proven Health and Safety systems complying with all Statutory  Requirements, and compatible  with the ‘fine tuning’ often required to meet specific Client or Site requirements. The Company has never been subject to any formal HSE sanction, or prosecution for any Health and Safety or Environmental matters

Our Health & Safety philosophy begins in Design and Project Planning and extends through our Fabrication Facilities to Site Operations. Key features include:

  • All Operational Personnel are Wrights employees, fully conversant with Wrights systems and procedures. They are Trained, Qualified, regularly  monitored and competent for tasks they are assigned.
  • All Employees are Health Screened at least annually by our fully trained and qualified company nurses
  • We employ an In House – Health and Safety Manager, supported by Qualified Heath and Safety Advisors
  • All Site Managers and most Site Supervisors hold IOSH Managing Safety
  • All Operational Personnel hold at least CCNSG Safety Passports – some also hold CSCS and SIA
  • Nominated Personnel hold Licences enabling them to use certain items of ‘Plant’ such as Telehandlers, MEWPs, Cranes, Trailers etc
  • Nominated Personnel hold Certification  as Appointed Persons (Lifting), Lifting Equipment Inspectors, PAT Testers, Scaffold Tower Erectors etc
  • Most Site Personnel have completed Working at Height, Working in Confined Spaces and other specialised work specific training courses

We believe that our excellent Health and Safety record is the result of goo0d training and as importantly in the attitudinal behaviour of our employees. To reduce our reliance on external providers – and enable a more flexible, job specific approach  – we undertake all our own CCNSG, IOSH and general Health and Safety Training ‘In House’.

Trading as Trainright UK we are licensed ECITB and IOSH Training Providers and provide a range of Health and Safety Courses either at our own purpose built facilities or if required ‘on site’ The same team  can also provide Principal Contractor services,  ISO 9001 and OH SAS 18001 Consultancy and Auditing.

Whether or not a Project is required to meet the specific requirements of  the CDM Regulations, our Site Health and Safety File will always include:

  • All Site Employees Profiles (including copies of Training Certificates, Licences etc)
  • Appropriate  detailed Method Statements
  • Appropriate detailed Risk Assessments
  • Appropriate Standardised Safe Systems of Work
  • Point of Work Risk Assessments
  • Appropriate Company Insurances

Our Site Management are equipped with laptops, and have direct access to updated Company Health & Safety and Human Resource Policies and Procedures, with immediate access to support and advice if required.

The company has an enviable reputation as a  “safe pair of hands” with many “blue chip” organisations throughout the UK, providing Site Installation for the likes of Lafarge Tarmac, British Gypsum, Tate and Lyle, Bovis Lend Lease and Lentjes. We have, and continue to operate in, the Building Materials, Energy, Food Processing, News Print and Waste Sectors – all with specific sometimes complex requirements.
