Lafarge Invest in new Roof Tile Collator.
During the late 1990’s, Redland/Lafarge developed a new type of machine to enable the high speed collation of concrete roof tiles to be accomplished without any damage to the surface. The machine utilised the latest servo drive motors and also employed tungsten carbide on wear surfaces. This ensured accuracy, long service intervals and high working efficiency for the production process.
Wright Engineering won the opportunity to manufacture and install a collator at Stirling works. Working closely with Lafarge project engineers Wright manufactured, assembled and then tested the complete machine at their purpose built factory. The machine was then dismantled, delivered and installed at the Stirling works during a short shutdown.
The machine was delivered on time and proved such a success that Wright Engineering were commissioned to manufacture a further two machines, which were recently installed satisfactorily to agreed set time scales.
The machines are now operating within a full production environment at over 95% efficiency and are fully supported by the Wright 24 hrs/7 day service and spare parts cover.
These machines reflect the ability of Wright Engineering to understand the highly technical requirements of their customers and produce high quality and cost effective solutions that totally meet their production needs.
Wright Engineering is now looking forward to producing further machines of this type in the near future.
