New Aggregate In-Feed System for Redland Roofing Systems.

Redland Roofing Systems Limited needed to replace an old Aggregate Handling Plant with a new fully automated system. Wright Engineering designed the PLC controlled system to allow the operators to blend two sands with accuracy and flexibility.

The plant is loaded by front end loader and then is controlled fully from the plant operators within the production building. The PLC system monitors levels and conveyor speeds as well as the automatic starting and stopping of the plant.

The aggregate is fully protected from the weather yet the equipment has been designed with ease of maintenance in mind. All the equipment was installed with the plant still in production and dry commissioning of the plant was  carried out and then the system changed over working over a long weekend.

An interesting feature designed into the equipment is an automatic plough and chute arrangement which enables a bin contents to be dumped easily and quickly, and above all safely.
