Wright Engineering is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a third major contract by Align JV to perform works on the UK Government’s HS2 project.

Align JV is a main works contractor on the project and has been tasked to carry out the C1 package which includes the development of 21.6km of high-speed rail infrastructure.

The scope of work requires the installation of the world’s biggest Slurry Treatment Plant from fee issue materials. Indeed, a slurry tunnel boring machine will be used as part of the construction of the 10-mile Chiltern tunnels. Spoil from the front of the excavation chamber will be removed via a recirculation system and pumped back to the surface where it will be separated from the slurry at the plant.

Josh Jepson (Sales Director) commented ‘We are very pleased that the Company was able to secure this contract following another competitive tender process. The team has worked extremely hard and has done an excellent job of showcasing the experience and expertise possessed by Wright Engineering. We look forward to delivering a first-rate Slurry Treatment Plant for Align JV and being part of this historic development’.
