Wright Engineering is proud to again sponsor and provide support to the ‘Darby Rimmer MND Foundation’ which promotes awareness and funds research into curing motor neurone disease.

The foundation was established by former Liverpool, Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers footballer Stephen Darby and his close friend and British Forces Veteran Chris Rimmer, both of which are fighting the disease.

After successfully completing the Coast to Coast bike ride (via the Workington to Newcastle route) two years ago, the team decided to complete the ‘Way of the Roses’ route which is a 170-mile journey from Morecambe to Bridlington and includes a number of grueling hill climbs.

The weather was, at times, treacherous but as the team arrived in Bridlington the sun decided to shine and there was a rousing welcome from friends, family and passers-by.

This year’s bike ride has raised over £14,000 for the foundation and donations are still coming in.
