CCNSG SAFETY PASSPORT

Conducted over two days and covering essential site safety. Successful candidates will receive a CCNSG Safety Passport which is valid for three years. Candidates take a series of four multiple choice Tests during the two days.

- Safe behaviours at work and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Risk Assessments
- Permit systems
- Hierarchy of Risk Control.
- Manual Handling
- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
- COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations)
- Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome
- Working in confined spaces and working at height
- Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations
- Site transport
- Electric / Isolation
- Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences (RIDDOR)
A one-day (8 hour) refresher course for candidates that have previously completed the CCNSG National Course. It is designed to bring safety passport holders up to date with new legislation before their current passport expires. Candidates must attend and pass the renewal course within 3 months of the current passport expiry date. Candidates take two multiple choice Tests during the day.

- Update on legislation and safety practices.
- Refresher on topics covered in the safety passport.
- Hazard spotting and job safety analysis.
Test-Only is an alternative option to the CCNSG Renewal Course and is available to candidates that have previously completed the CCNSG National Course. Candidates must take and pass the online renewal test within 3 month of the current passport expiry date. There is no classroom workshop and no training or assistance given. Candidates are expected to have revised their health and safety knowledge prior to the test. Candidates are permitted two attempts at the online test before having to attend the CCNSG Renewal Course.

- Consists of 60 multiple choice questions.
IOSH MANAGING SAFELY
Delivered over three or four days, the IOSH Managing Safely in The Engineering Construction Industry provides managers and supervisors with the knowledge and skills they require to effectively manage Health and Safety in a site environment. Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, candidates are awarded a ‘Managing Safely’ certificate from ECITB/IOSH – the world’s largest Health and Safety organisation.
There is an end-of-course assessment comprising of 30 multi-format questions, and a short project (to develop a formal detailed Risk Assessment) which has to be submitted within two weeks of the end of the course.
