Wright Engineering relocated an existing feed hopper located at Bardon Hill quarry to a new location so as to feed an existing loadout conveyor, which presented a number of challenges.

The first challenge was to rotate the hopper 90 degrees from a vertical position to a horizontal position in order to transport to the opposite side of the quarry via an artic trailer. Subsequently, the hopper had to be rotated back and position on newly cast foundation anchors

The next stage required the modification and extension of the existing feed conveyor to the loadout conveyor. This required the removal of the head frame and the installation of a new gantry extension which included additional transoms, roller and guarding. Further, a new feed chute was installed between the two conveyors which required the removal and adjustment of the structure cladding. Finally, new components and a new belt was fitted to complete the works.
